“FUNDACION PROYECTO PADRES”A non-profit organization in Argentina, working for a better society.
“Fundacion Proyecto Padres” (Project Parents Foundation) is an Argentinean non-profit organization, founded in 2002 by Argentine parents concerned for their children growing in a country/world in crisis. The mission of this organization is: "Better Parents, Better Children, Better Argentines". Supporting parents and mothers in the unique challenging task of leading the education of their children.
I had the privilege to be invited as a guest speaker at the 1stArgentinean Northwest (NOA) Parents Congress in Salta, Argentina, held June 2009. This congress was sponsored by the “Fundacion Projecto Padres”.
My main collaboration during this congress was to introduce to the audience an evidence-based parenting education program that prevents delinquency and substance abuse (“The Incredible Years Program”). As a Child Psychiatrist, I stressed emphasis over the value that parents play as educators of their children’s potential to build a better society.
In addition as an International Medical Graduate, I was able to use my familiarity with the language and the culture of Argentina during this congress. I feel the necessity to share my experience with SEWW.
